Two useful "Porn" websites - Earth porn and Word porn!!

I know that the word "porn" can easily grab the attention. Well, it certainly is a head turner for me and for many people even though they will never admit it, that is why I put the title as that, deliberately. But the websites I am going to present is not the "usual porn sites", but very informative and interesting. Check out the sites and you will find out that I was not lying.

The website is a treasure trove of wonderful information about different places all around the world with stunning photographs. In addition to that there are many articles encompassing  trivia on animals and articles on human life - amazing deeds and actions of human beings, life style etc. Also presented are several videos. They are active on facebook too and by liking their facebook page, you will receive wonderful photographs and description about different places all around the world on your timeline on a daily basis. Most of the words presented in wordporn are not the ones which we usually encounter in our normal book reads and newspaper reads. Some of them are very very useful, which can be used under common situations which will make the listener aghast. Here are some examples,
I don't know how many times, I experienced this in my life!!

Everybody loves rain, but did you know the word for love of rain  before?
Many people suffer from this!!

How about this? I am proud to be a sapiosexual
And there are quotes too, try this!!

Some thought provoking Short Stories and Images from Nicholas D’Amario

I had some time today, was browsing internet on art, painting and the likes. In the mean time, I stumbled upon a website, not that appealing and some what bland (compared to the usual standards) and my first impression was to bounce back. But I stayed and lucky me, most of the posts were just outstanding, if not stunning views.

The website was owned by a guy called Nicholas D’Amario. He has presented his digital artworks and some designer jewelry too, but what is worth are his short stories. Presenting two stories I liked most, well, I doubt whether they can be called stories, never mind, they are thought provoking.

1.  Affixed

" I wish I could have replied to the man in kind as he attempted to pull what was thought to be a simple mask from off my face. Nothing drove him but shear unblinking interest to see from whence my muffled reverberating voice truly emitted from, for he believed no voice could possibly issue forth from unmoving lips; and as the man approached with hands raised towards me I backed away swiftly in retreat. Still again he advanced without pause, my obvious gesture of avoidance dissuading him not.

With a terrifying thoughtless expression of curiosity on his face, the man tucked the fingers of each his hands under my chin and exerted only a small amount of force making my head and neck unwillingly follow. Again, harder this time he jerked back with his arms peeling away a slight and sudden dark opening.

It took him more then a moment to notice the thick black oil which began flowing down onto my neck, his hands, and the ground below us as he continued to pry away beneath the cold steel which made up my visage. With fierce determination he pulled, his grip slipping on the smooth now oily metallic surface of what he still believed was but a mask to hide the truth behind. Higher and higher it rose as without acceptance, rather un-surrendering intensity, the man continued tearing, not understanding that the face he saw was the only face I had". (
Nicholas D’Amario, sketchy-stories.)

I liked the ending, isn't this story beautifully painful?

"I sleep in wonder of this lost and forgotten place where few have come and fewer still remember. None search for its sanctuary and no path tempt any to find it. This clearing of unremembered dreams exists for no one, and here at the heart of its surrounding and consuming forest without depth, I try to remember why I came.

It was once testament to meaning and memory and something deeper then both, but now all has faded, blending with the eternal backdrop of the trees beyond. Despite the calm that is induced by its soundless beauty and the urge it brings to simply overlook all things past, my purpose here I now recall… Is to remember.

There should be something more to this place, I realize in unjust worry. Something which the depthless forest all about has choked off and buried within its horrible splendor. The golden leaves and vibrant rays of sunlight that break through lofty branches seem to exist only to cover what all have forgotten, and if only I could bring to mind the vast grandeur this hiding place of now dying dreams once inspired, then maybe those ever consuming trees would not be here at all".
(Nicholas D’Amario, sketchy-stories.)

There are more stories in his website. All are this post-modern type short stories which are worth checking out. So read all, it will take only few minutes, but will give fodder for thought.

His artworks are also petty good, check out them too,

Androgynous - way to being genderfluid

Androgynous look is becoming vogue, many celebrities endorsing the androgynous look like Adam Lambert, Boy George, the late pop icon Michael Jackson to name a few and  models like Andrej Pejic, Tilda Swinton are considered hot properties in both male and female modelling ramp shows. So, is it bad to be gender fluid? One day you dress like a man and the next day you go out in your smashing and flamboyant female avatar. Well, you need to endure the heavy frowning of our society, you need to think beyond your thick social conditioning to enjoy such a drag and quite sure that those will be labelled as "freak shows". Photographer Leland Bobbe, created some wonderful photographs in his series " Half-Drag" he dismantles the social conditioning and explores the gender neutral stance to a new level.

As mentioned in his website "His  series, Half-Drag offers a unique perspective on the drag queens behind the make up, while providing provocative social commentary on gender identity, normative ideas about gender roles, and the traditional male/ female paradigm". "Not surprisingly, Half-Drag has gone viral, appearing on over thousands of blogs, websites and online magazines in over 30 countries including Vogue Italia, Huffington Post, ABC News, The Sundance Channel, AOL and MSN".

Enjoy/Frown/Wow upon, but not at all easy to try this in public spaces.

5 Weird Practices to Preserve Beauty Through Ages in Asia

Beauty even though doesn’t have any survival value, human beings will do anything to preserve it. Anybody remember the legendary Queen Cleopatra who is known for her high maintenance beauty secrets like bathing in milk and honey, fortified with natural plant products and herbs. Well, most of her beauty secrets were scientific, how about this - using crocodile dung mixed with donkey’s milk as a face mask. Here are some of the weirdest Asian practices to preserve ideal beauty, arranged in no particular order.

1. Japanese Ohaguro

People these days are visiting more often to dental clinics to make their teeth sparkling white and cosmetic dentistry is a burgeoning field of medicine. But not everyone believes that white teeth are the ideal beauty yardstick. In Japan, there is a tradition called “Ohaguro”, where women dye their teeth pitch black using lacquer or plant extracts. Believe it or not, these materials are said to provide some antibacterial action and thereby prevent tooth decay too.

2. Chinese foot binding

Another weird ritual from China. The cruel practice of binding the feet of young girls in unusually small shoes (3 inches) curbing the further growth of bones resulting in extremely mutilated and unbelievably small feet (The golden lotus foot). This epitomizes “suffering for beauty” and those women will remain crippled for life (link).

3. Padaung of Burma

Another painful and weird beauty experiment - Burmese “neck stretching” or Padaung. The women will stretch the length of their necks by wearing metallic rings around neck, sequentially added over time (usually many years) and stretching the neck up to 18 inches high. Well, there is an interesting story behind this practice that this originated as a means of protection of women from tiger attacks which later transformed into a status symbol - of beauty and wealth. The most bizarre thing is that if you take the rings off the woman's neck, she may die as the neck is no longer strong enough to support the head. The husband can demand to take the rings of, if the women betrays him, nice custom, right?

4. The nose plugs of Apatani Tribe - India

Well, the above said traditions were intended to make people more beautiful (or atleast they thought so), this on the other side were done to make people ugly. Apatani women of Arunachal Pradesh, India, stuff large nose plugs (Yaping hullo) to make themselves unattractive to foreign men. Anyway this practice is no longer in vogue among the tribe.

5. Ear stretching

Ear stretching (Guaging) is a fashion right now. People stretch their ears and wear fashionable ornaments, but for some it is tradition. The Lahu from Thailand do this because they believe that human ear is sacred and so should wear more jewellery for better life. By gauging their ears, they are able to wear the maximum amount of jewellery and a resultant grace from gods. Fashion mongers can read this article about Guaging here (link).

12 Trending books on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Yesterday, Narendra Modi became the 15th Prime Minister of India. He has not aired his views on homosexuality yet and probably it will not be much different from BJP views. But considering the air of secrecy around Modi and the change of his body language after the elections, I think we can expect surprises.  He is definitely a mysterious man. His fashion sense is immaculate; proper amalgamation of pure desi  and chic western styles, he is an avid photographer who had even conducted an exhibition, his oratory skills  nonpareil with any of the current crop of  Indian leaders, specialties are many for this resurgent man from Gujarat. To know more about our PM, Narendra Modi, buy and read the below books available through online portals of Flipkart and Amazon. I haven't read all of them and so cannot vouch for their quality, but just listing some of the trending books about Modi with their Flipkart and Amazon India links, for your convenience.

Bulging Crotches and Reckless Hands

What I am going to write about would have been experienced by most men in India, some will admit, others won't. It is prevalent during routine commute or anywhere, let it be the park nearby or in subways. I used to look at men, in fact, all men who passes near me. I ogle them, look at their derriere clad in skin tight jeans, their crotches or wedgies, but I will never go beyond the look at those hommes. I love it when men wear  low waist jeans, which gives immense opportunity to see what is lying beneath and beyond that an arousing curiosity, a titillating view of the underlying jockeys and hairy abdomens. Even by looking, I know that I am invading their privacy, but being a harmless habit, I think if is pardonable. What I am going to say about is even beyond this, it is embarrassing even to a gay man like me, let alone heterosexuals then. It stems from the prejudice, fear and the restrictions imposed in the society. Most gay men in India consider themselves to be bisexual and they lead a double life. Well, sometimes they cannot control their own hands and minds.

In India, buses and trains form the basic mode of public transport. With the spawning population and sprawling streets coupled with a totally disorganized public transport system, the crowds in buses and trains are mostly unimaginable to a Westerner. People are packed like peaches in a box and we are totally adapted to such crowds.  It is a gargantuan task to get into a bus at times, and you will feel like hell if you have some luggage too. Trains are worse and phenomenally crowded; the invasion of personal space is unthinkable. If you split your legs a little farther, somebody will take that space to sit down. People from cities are okay with all those and the diameter of their flight zone is considerably lesser compared to a person from rural areas. I grew up in a rural setting and I am totally uncomfortable with such breach of personal space. I avoid trains because of that and will wait for long in order to catch a bus with lesser crowds.

http://www.projectreporter.co.in/images/stories/Over-crowded.jpg

As you are aware, such crowded spaces are hunting grounds for a closeted gay man or as society calls, a perverse man. They can touch the body parts of any man deliberately and can pretend that it happened inadvertently. Well, they need some knack for that though. I am not able to determine what to call such men, "perverse",  "opportunists" or "victims of circumstances". If society was tolerant to the "gay thing", then they would not have been forced to seek pleasure in such surreptitious ways. Such experiences are so common, but nobody likes to admit it in public, but in private conversations among friends it will come up regularly.

The modus operandi differs slightly from person to person, but more or less the same. I was on my way back home from office, caught my routine bus, occupied my more or less reserved window seat, put my ear phones and got lost in pop music. Soon a middle aged man, nearly 45-50 years of age, well dressed sat beside me and the bus got moving. I didn't pay any attention to him, as older guys don't act as head turners for me. The bus was not crowded and many seats were unoccupied. As the bus got moving, that man started sleeping and I was viewing the scenery outside. I was totally unaware of the person sitting beside me. Suddenly I felt a hand over my thighs. I looked down and found that his hand was resting over my thighs. I didn't mind. I continued listening to my music and ignored that hand as I thought that he was sleeping and his hand may have slipped down. After some time, the position of hand changed and it had gone up. I was getting suspicious by then. Still I did not react as I was not sure whether it was deliberate or not. I remained guarded. After some time, the hand moved more closer to my crotch. Then I understood that it was deliberate. I slowly removed his hand from my thighs. For some time, nothing happened, soon the hand retained the same position and the whole process started again. His hand again reached closer to my crotch and I was forced to react. But being a gay man myself, I could not make it a big fuss. If I did that, I would be ethically wrong. So without looking at the man, I just got up from the seat and occupied another vacant seat. I was pretty sure that I did the right thing by not reacting violently; he will definitely do this to another man in future, my reaction is not going to make a difference. I didn’t react because of the sympathy I felt for him as I believe that he was doing doing this out of his desperation.
