The goat and the horse story

I stumbled upon this story accidentally on face book, but it is very relevant in this world. Everybody is competing with others for power, food, money, fame and at times, the whole game turns dirty. Ethics is a vanishing term and the deserving people usually get deserted. This story depicts such a situation heart-wrenchingly.

Jack the goat, and Charlie the horse.

The goat and the horse

There was a farmer who had a horse and a goat. One day the horse became ill and he called the veterinarian who said "well, your horse is infected with a virus. He must take this medicine for three days. I'll come back on the 3rd day and if he's not better, we will be forced to put him down".

Nearby, the goat listened closely to their conversation.
The next day, they gave him the medicine and left. The goat approached the horse and said, "Be strong, my friend. Get up or else they're going to put you to sleep!"

On the second day also, they gave him the medicine and left. The goat came back and said, " Come on buddy, get up or else you are going to die. Come on, I'll help you get up. Let's go! One, two, three....", but to no avail.

On the third day, they came to give him the medicine and the vet said "Unfortunately, we're going to have to put him down tomorrow. Otherwise, the virus might spread and infect the other horses. After they left, the goat approached the horse and said " Listen pal, it's now or never! Get up, come on, have courage. come on! Get up! Get up! That's it, slowly, Great!

All of a sudden, the owner came back and saw the horse running in the field and began shouting. "It's  a miracle! My horse is cured! We must have a grand grand party. Let us "kill the goat" !!!!!

Sad story. This often happens in almost all workplaces. Nobody truly knows who worked harder and deserve the real recognition or credit for the success or who is actually contributing the necessary support to make things happen. Bosses gain while the real people who worked hard will be sidelined. Good bosses will give the credit to their teams, but mostly, they take all the credit which is totally unethical.

Learning to live without recognition is actually a skill but considered a weakness by most professionals. If anyone tells you that your work is un-professional, remember: Amateurs built the Ark which saved all the species while the professionals built the titanic which lead to death of people tragically.

On a brighter note, this story also pins the effect of inspiration upon somebody's life. Some good words, a simple hug, a hearty smile, lending your ears, spending a few moments can do wonders. Join hands, live and let live,  grow together. We all have the power to touch somebody else's life.

Well, goats and horses seem to be good friends. Here is the real life story of a "compassionate goat" virtually baby sitting a helpless blind horse for years. But the owner too was compassionate and well appreciated the goat's efforts. So did the horse.

The amazing Japanese gay manga paintings - a picture post

The Japanese manga features hyper-masculine men for gay male readers and is widely referred to as “bara”. Incidentally,  “bara” is actually an obsolete slang for homosexual men in Japan. Presenting some of them below. They even form part of fashion in Japan. Great indeed.

Some are smoking hot, at least for me!!!

The fundoshi wearing cuddly cuties are worth a look and quite lovable. Hope you liked them too.

Celebrity coming outs in 2014 - a welcome change.

I always love the "coming out" of celebrities. That gives more visibility to the gay community and gives more confidence to the gay youth. So thought of compiling the famous personalities who "came out" in 2014. Check them out.

Sam Smith: the man with that gorgeous voice and hits like "stay with me" and "I am not the only one"  in his kitty. Worthy addition to the community.

Sports is one area where you won't find much candidates belonging to gay community. There may be enough gay men among sport stars, but no body comes out. Oops, this year we had many. Derrick Gordon (basketball player), Tom Luchsinger (Olympic hopeful, swimmer), Liam Davis, (pro soccer), Matt Llano (professional long distance runner), Thomas Hitzlsperger (pro soccer) Well done!

Well, the biggest sport star was Ian Thorpe, Olympic swimmer. Ah, I just love him!!

Then came some from business and politics -  Edgars Rinkēvičs, Latvia's foreign minister. Not bad at all.  Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, came out with a very relevant coming out commentary. Loved it.

He said, “While I have never denied my sexuality, I haven’t publicly acknowledged it either, until now,” Cook wrote in an essay for Bloomberg BusinessWeek. “So let me be clear: I’m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me."
Others from show business...Lee Ryan (boy band member of the band Blue), Vicky Beeching (singer-songwriter), Andreja Pejic (Model), Patricia Yurena (Miss Spain 2008 and 2013), Ellen Page (Actress, X-Men: Days of Future Past)
