Layered photographic art of Nir Arieli

Nir Arieli's images define (within oneself) the body as an entity that cannot be fully grasped. His project ‘Tension’ employs double (triple/quadruple/quintuple/sextuplet/sextuplet etc) exposure techniques to highlight subtle and sometimes drastic movements of the figure. The shapes created and the space occupied by the body is frozen in flux. For more just visit his website. The photographs are ripe with a certain fragility and vulnerability even when the models are absolute physical specimens celebrating masculinity.
